Luckily, fashion has changed dramatically since then. Luxury fashion houses send socks with sandals down the runway. Birkenstocks have become a wardrobe staple instead of a symbol of practicality.

Trainers regularly accompany tailored suits, while visible lingerie has become part of red carpet styling rather than something to hide. Many of the rules that once defined good taste have quietly disappeared.

This change has happened for several reasons. Personal style has become more important than following trends without question. Social media has exposed people to different cultures, aesthetics, and ways of dressing, making fashion far less rigid than it once was.

At the same time, fashion designers continue challenging conventions, proving that today’s style “mistake” could become tomorrow’s biggest trend.

The unusually hot weather meant the guidance was relaxed, sparking fresh conversations about whether fashion rules are fixed or simply depend on context. Perhaps that is the real answer.
