Teyana Taylor is Back, Stronger, and Better

If resilience had a face, it would look a lot like Teyana Taylor, confident in a Thom Browne creation, voluminous afro hair framing her face like a crown, and a knowing smirk.

She’s been through seasons of change; juggling motherhood, switching creative gears, and rewriting her own definition of “having it all.” 

Now, she’s entering a chapter that feels bigger, brighter, and completely her own.

In her InStyle cover story, Teyana doesn’t just talk about career wins. She talks about life; about what really matters, and how becoming a mother of two changed her in ways she didn’t expect. 

At 34, she’s both grounded and unstoppable, speaking with a mix of warmth and determination. When her second daughter, Rue Rose, arrived, something shifted. “My grind is different, my hustle is different,” she told the magazine. “I’m not playing with y’all — my tolerance is different, what I’m willing to take and not willing to take… Motherhood is what made me start to pour more into the other things that I love to do and also to help other people.”

This is the voice of someone who stepped away from the noise long enough to hear herself clearly. Back in December 2020, she shocked fans by retiring from music. It wasn’t because she was out of ideas, but because she was done fighting for space in an industry that didn’t value her fully.
