The much-anticipated première of the third season of the Netflix romance series, “Bridgerton,” took place in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Saturday, May 4th,2024. Nigerian and South African celebrities graced the premiere, catching everyone’s attention with their fabulous outfits inspired by the Regency era.
Following the theme of “Regency Era Splendor: Into The Spotlight,” it was more like a style war as our favorite stars from Nigeria, Ghana, and South Africa lived up to expectations. One cannot overlook Sharon Ooja‘s strong penchant for purple as the Nigerian actress made her entrance in a dramatic purple gown that came complete with a matching headtie.
Ghanaian-Nigerian actress, Juliet Ibrahim, was a sartorial queen and she once again proved why during the movie premier. She was showing off her fashionable status in a regal green gown that reminded us of Queen Charlotte. At the same time, Josesyn Dumas paid tribute to her Ghanaian tradition in a masterfully crafted Kente dress.
And not to downplay Priscilla Ojo, Kim Oprah, Lilian Afegbai, Idia Aisien, and their South African counterpart Dineo Moeketsi, who pulled out all the stops for the Bridgerton 3 premiere. British actress, Andjoa Andoh, known for her role as Lady Agatha Danbury was also in the star-studded affair.
Meanwhile, adding to the sartorial spectacle of the night was none other than Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori (a.k.a Kie Kie) who was the night’s host. The comedienne looked enchanting in a ball gown adorned with matching jewelry.
Season 3 of Bridgerton will take a different turn this time around and will focus on the love story of Colin and Penelope (also known by their fan-given nickname “Polin”), The season features some of the cast in the previous two seasons and introduces several new faces. According to Netflix, Season 3 will be split into two batches of four episodes, with Part 1 premiering on May 16, and Part 2 arriving a month later on June 13.
