Veekee James is Traditionally Hitched in a Stunning Wedding Dress With a Corseted Bodice

The Nigerian fashion scene has been bubbling with some sweet love & luxe energy over the past week as celebrity fashion designer, Veekee James (a.k.a Victoria James) commemorated her union in both legal and traditional ceremonies.

Right from her engagement to the bridal shower, court wedding, and now the traditional ceremony on Thursday, February 8th, one thing has stood out – the luxurious and carefully crafted pieces she chose for her traditional wedding day. It’s quite something when a fashion designer designs her own wedding dress, isn’t it?

The beautiful 27-year-old Ibibio bride and her charming Yoruba groom, Femi, entered their first traditional celebration with style and grace. Veekee James stood tall in an intricately embellished strapless gown with structured feathers around the shoulders, a corseted bodice showcasing her hourglass figure, and the skirt with a pleated design gracefully draped to the floor, complemented with a well-tied gele headpiece.

She embraced her traditional heritage with a heavily coral bead necklace securing both her neck and wrist, further showcasing the distinctive elements that define an Ibibio bride.

Veekee looked stunning in her traditional wedding attire, which had a mix of black, emerald green, and purple colors. The gorgeous ensemble was elevated with accessories, including a matching purple clutch bag with a unique handle and eye-catching purple shoes that even earned their own post on Instagram.

Not to be outdone, the groom complemented his extremely luxurious wife with a coordinated look. He sported a black round cap, a lively green shirt paired with a wrapper, and accessorized with sleek grey beads. The ensemble was rounded off with classic black shoes.

Together, the couple created an image of cultural refinement and beauty worth earning them the title of “couple of the month,” and it’s not even the end of February yet.

Beyond the bride’s look, the traditional wedding was a spectacular assembly of Veekee James’ closest ladies and female celebrities in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, each showcasing premium and outstanding looks that turned the ceremony into a sea of green fashion.
