Rihanna’s Fenty x Puma Collaboration is Back With a New Sneaker Design

 

After a brief hiatus, the highly anticipated collaboration between Rihanna and sportswear giant Puma is back, and it’s better than ever. Rihanna, who acts as the creative director for the Fenty x Puma label, took a break from the collaboration in 2017 to focus on her successful ventures in the beauty and lingerie industries. However, the superstar singer has just unveiled the label’s comeback, featuring a brand new sneaker design called the Avanti.

Fenty x Puma made its debut in 2015 with sneakers, so it comes as no surprise that the brand is returning to its footwear roots. Their initial launch saw the release of the iconic Creeper platform sneakers, which were met with immense popularity. Building on that success, the brand went on to introduce other iconic shoe designs including bowed sneakers and faux-fur slide sandals.

While Riri later ventured into intimate apparel with her Savage x Fenty brand and made waves with its New York Fashion Week presentations, the new Avanti release marks a deliberate homage to the Fenty x Puma sneaker origins.

The Avanti sneaker design showcases the brand’s dedication to pushing boundaries and challenging traditional footwear norms. Its bold and innovative aesthetic pays tribute to the Brazilian football player, Pelé, with a design inspired by Puma’s old-time King football boot and Easy Rider running shoe, It’s fair enough to say the new sneakers embody the spirit of Fenty x Puma.

The Avanti features a sleek and futuristic silhouette, adorned with eye-catching details and grey, black and white colorways. It is a true reflection of Rihanna’s unique sense of style and the brand’s commitment to breaking barriers and redefining fashion.

What sets Fenty x Puma apart from other collaborations is the seamless combination of sportswear elements with high fashion. “This time around, we expanded our creations to kids, ’cause I selfishly want my boys in everything their dad and I wear or design,” Rihanna told Vogue.

The new design is expected to be released worldwide on Puma.com this September 15, with the retail price at $160 for adult sizes, $95 for preschool sizes, and $80 for infants.
