Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s upcoming wedding is already making headlines as new details come out about Taylor’s bridal outfits and the couple’s big plans.

With Madison Square Garden in New York City as the venue over the July 4th weekend, this event is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings in years.

Insiders say Taylor Swift plans to wear several custom outfits during the multi-day celebration, showing off different sides of her style. A source close to the planning says several unique dresses have already been made for the 36-year-old Grammy winner, giving her choices for each part of the festivities.

Designers Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia from the New York brand Monse are top contenders. The pair, who were co-creative directors at Oscar de la Renta until earlier this year, already have a strong working relationship with Swift.

She recently wore a sleeveless black Monse dress with silver accents at Kelce’s Tight End University event in Nashville. With Oscar de la Renta, she has worn a nude sequin and floral gown at Selena Gomez’s wedding and has had costumes made for her Eras Tour.

Fittings are reportedly done in private using a mannequin shaped to Swift’s exact measurements instead of in-person sessions at a fashion house. This helps the couple keep their privacy despite all the attention.

Earlier reports say Swift might take inspiration from Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor. Her 2025 album The Life Of A Showgirl, even has a song named after Taylor, and Swift has reportedly spent time looking at Taylor’s old photos and style.

Insiders say Swift especially admires a 1950 wedding gown worn by Elizabeth Taylor, known for its classic shape, fitted waist, and lace details. There’s even talk she might wear a piece of Taylor’s jewellery if the estate allows it.

The wedding is expected to be a big, multi-day event that matches the star power of both Swift and Kelce. Reports say there will be a small gathering for about 100 close friends and family on Thursday, July 2, and then a larger party for around 1,000 guests on Friday, July 3, at Madison Square Garden.

The main event may include live performances, turning the famous arena, usually home to concerts and sports, into a fairy-tale setting.

Permits have been filed to close nearby streets from July 2 to midday July 4, and there are plans for tents, canopies, and support vehicles. Kansas City Chiefs players have also booked rooms at the Marriott Marquis nearby, which adds to the excitement.

City officials are moving forward with the idea that the main wedding events will happen at the arena.

Before choosing Madison Square Garden, the couple reportedly looked at smaller venues like Casa Cipriani. Security is already being arranged, with the NYPD helping with the plans. Guests have been invited under strict nondisclosure agreements, and some were told they can’t bring a plus-one, showing the couple wants to keep things private and in their control.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce first sparked dating rumours in late 2023 when she showed up at a Kansas City Chiefs game. Their relationship soon became a cultural sensation, bringing together Swift’s music world and Kelce’s sports career.

The couple announced their engagement in September the next year with a playful Instagram post: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

This relationship is more than just a celebrity couple. It brings together music, sports, and pop culture in a big way. Fans have watched every step, from stadium appearances to hints in Swift’s songs.

More than just fashion and location, the wedding shows how Swift has grown from a country music star to a global icon who can put on a show while still keeping her private life safe. Her many outfit changes let her celebrate both tradition and her own style, possibly mixing vintage looks with modern glamour.

As July approaches, one thing is clear: Taylor Swift’s wedding to Travis Kelce will be remembered not just for its size but for the real connection between them.

Whether she draws on classic Hollywood style from Elizabeth Taylor or works with top designers like Monse, Swift is set to create wedding moments that will inspire fans for years.
