Kim Kardashian has once again demonstrated her commitment to elaborate costumes.
Days before Halloween 2026, the SKIMS founder posted photos and videos dressed as her 13-year-old daughter, North West.
Kardashian replicated North’s distinctive gothic-inspired style so accurately that many followers initially mistook her for North.
In an Instagram post captioned “Halloween 2026” with a zombie emoji, Kardashian wore a long turquoise-blue wig, dramatic spiky false lashes, silver facial studs, dermal-style piercings on her cheeks and hands, black grills, and an oversized black graphic T-shirt with skull-and-crossbones imagery, echoing North’s N0rth4evr EP promotional looks.
She layered a black-and-white striped long-sleeve shirt underneath, added a silver chain necklace with a skull pendant and spiked jewelry, and finished the look with long, pointed stiletto nails in monochrome gothic designs.

The resemblance was striking. Family members responded quickly, with Khloé Kardashian commenting “Twins!!!!!!” and Kris Jenner writing, “This is so fun!!!!!”
Fans expressed both surprise and admiration, commenting: “Girl I thought this was northhh,” “IM TOTALLY SPEECHLESS,” “Coolest mom ever,” and “FOOLED.”
The transformation even fooled casual viewers, highlighting how closely Kardashian studied her daughter’s evolving style.
North West, the eldest child of Kim Kardashian and Ye (formerly Kanye West), has developed a bold personal style that differs from the traditional Kardashian-Jenner image.
Her signature look includes long electric-blue or turquoise hair, sometimes styled straight or in pigtails inspired by virtual idol Hatsune Miku.

This change is not a sudden rebellion.
Kardashian has stated that North’s interest in piercings and alternative fashion began in early childhood.
In a recent TikTok livestream, she recalled that even in pre-K, North wanted septum or double-brow piercings and would wear fake ones to school.
North has addressed online criticism of her style, stating: “I’m not demonic guys, stop saying I’m demonic. No, I’m not. Just because I like to dress this way, don’t judge a book by its cover.”
She referenced an all-white “gothic Lolita” outfit worn during her first major solo performance as evidence of her faith and positive intentions, noting her belief in Jesus and her desire to show she is “actually a light, not dark.”
Fashion observers have connected North’s style to Gen Z trends, K-pop influences, her father’s innovative fashion legacy, and references to Kylie Jenner’s history with coloured hair.
The result is a style that reflects a 13-year-old navigating identity, creativity, and the scrutiny associated with being a Kardashian-West child.
Her emerging music career has reinforced this aesthetic.
The May 2026 release of her six-track EP N0rth4evr, festival appearances such as Rolling Loud and her first solo set at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash, and collaborations with her father have established her as a rising artist with a distinct visual identity.
Kardashian’s decision to adopt her daughter’s style is especially significant given the criticism North has received.
By fully embracing the details of North’s style, including grills, nail art, and poses, Kim demonstrated solidarity and acceptance of her daughter’s self-expression.
Previous joint costumes have highlighted their playful bond, such as dressing as Cher and Dionne from Clueless in 2023 and joining Kris Jenner as a TikTok trio more recently.
This year’s solo transformation from mother to daughter appears both affectionate and intentional.
Online responses combined enthusiasm with commentary on parenting, age-appropriateness, and celebrity influence.
However, most responses expressed admiration for the attention to detail and the visible mother-daughter connection.
At a time when celebrity children are often expected to conform or remain out of the spotlight, North’s unapologetic style and her mother’s public support are notable.
As Halloween approaches, fans are speculating whether North will reciprocate by recreating one of her mother’s iconic past looks, such as Pamela Anderson, Madonna, Cher, or their previous Princess Jasmine costume.
