Edward Enninful Features 40 Women For His Last British Vogue Cover

Edward Enninful, the editor-in-chief of British Vogue, has made a grand statement in his final cover for the prestigious fashion magazine. Enninful has brought together an impressive group of 40 women, all of whom have previously graced the magazine’s cover during his tenure.

In a stunning black and white photoshoot by renowned photographer Steven Meisel, these women pose together, exuding a sense of camaraderie and unity as if they were old friends or family members reuniting.

The group includes a mix of iconic models and other influential celebrities, capturing the essence of diversity and talent in the fashion and entertainment industries. From media mogul Oprah Winfrey to tennis sensation Serena Williams, from fashion designer Victoria Beckham to pop sensation Dua Lipa, the cover features a stellar lineup. Other notable names include Salma Hayek, Miley Cyrus, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Christy Turlington.

Inside the magazine, Serena Williams and Oprah captivate in their black ensembles, while Naomi Campbell sits elegantly in white. In another shot, the trio of Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham, and Christy Turlington stands together, donning white outfits that perfectly complement each other.

“When it came to my final issue as editor, it was impossible for me to choose one person for the cover who personifies not only Vogue but the world we live in today,” Enninful said in an interview via WWD.

“It became obvious very quickly that we needed to represent inclusivity beyond fashion, and celebrate the community of women who have helped to shape the culture, so I gathered 40 women who have previously graced the cover of British Vogue during my editorship.”

Choosing the cover stars for British Vogue every month has never been an easy task for Enninful. He has always relied on his “gut feeling” and staying attuned to what is happening in the world. This final cover is no exception. Enninful’s ability to curate such an impressive group of women showcases his keen eye for talent and his dedication to representing a diverse range of voices and perspectives.

Enninful also sees this final cover as a glimpse into his future role as a global creative and cultural adviser at Vogue, as well as an editorial adviser at British Vogue. In his new global position, he will continue to contribute to the Vogue brand on an international scale. He also plans to resume work on broader creative projects that were put on hold when he took on the role of editor in August 2017.
