Beyonce and Her Entire Dancers Wore Custom Bodysuits by a Senegalese Brand TONGORO

Every day is a fashion show since Beyonce kickstarted the Renaissance World Tour in May. She’s worn countless custom looks from major brands around the world — from Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Valentino, and Louis Vuitton, just to name a few, and even the one the megastar designed herself.

Now, a Senegalese brand, Tongoro, founded by Sarah Diouf in 2016, has joined the coveted group of labels during the history-making tour to create a series of custom looks for Beyonce and her entire team of dancers of thirty men and females for the Santa Clara leg of Renaissance Tour concert on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

Styled by Shiona Turini, the custom NARI bodysuit, including the hand gloves and the thigh-high boots, were all handmade in Senegal’s largest city, Darkar. Tongoro shared the looks on Instagram, describing the gig as “The African Renaissance.”:

During the Amsterdam Renaissance tour concert in June, Bey paid a tribute to Black designers, revealing that the gesture was in honor of Juneteenth, a federal holiday in the United States that commemorates the end of slavery. “In honor of Juneteenth, everything I wore for RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR tonight was created exclusively by Black designers,” she wrote.
