The runways declared it was time to embrace drama, showcasing stylized hairdos like voluminous hair, slicked-back buns, and textured bobs. Each show was brimming with inspiration, offering a plethora of ideas to fill your phone’s storage.

While buns remain a timeless hairstyle, hairstylist Guido Palau showcased an elevated twist at the Milan Fall 2024 Fashion Week for Prada, setting a new standard of elegance, with a glass-like finish and distinctive edges. The models also flaunted radiant skin, skillfully crafted by the brand’s global makeup artist, Lynsey Alexander, matching the glass-like finish on their hair.

Christian Siriano’s Fall/Winter Show at the New York Fashion Week also witnessed a modern reinterpretation of sleek buns by Tresemmé partner and celebrity stylist Lacy Redway. Introducing ‘celestial box buns,’ Redway aimed to align with the reflective designs of Siriano’s collection. She sought a departure from the prevailing ballerina core trend, infusing a sense of fun and futurism through unique textures.

Using the Dyson Supersonic from Dyson’s professional collection, Redway blow-dried the hair, creating a lightweight foundation. The styling process involved pulling the hair into a low ponytail, fashioning it into a square-shaped bun, and securing it with large bobby pins.

Meanwhile, at New York Fashion Week, Christian Cowan’s show, also featured “expensive, luxurious-looking” hair, emphasizing volume with the aid of extra-hold hairspray.

At New York Fashion Week, renowned hairstylist Lacy Redway redefined the traditional chignon for the LaQuan Smith Fall show, by ingeniously incorporating a classic No. 2 pencil, infusing a utilitarian charm. This innovative twist adds a unique and contemporary element to the timeless hairstyle.

At the Christian Siriano Fall/Winter ’24 show, the hairstylist continued her creative prowess, fashioning an adorned bun with refined sophistication. Striving to complement the luminosity of the collection, she meticulously adorned each bun and part with delicate specks of gold leaf.

Redway employed the cutting-edge Dyson Supersonic dryer to ensure the secure placement of the golden accents, showcasing a seamless fusion of artistry and technology.
