Nike Is Bonding Motherhood and Sport With Its First Maternity Collection

Nike just launched its first-ever maternity collection, Nike (M), dedicated to pregnant women to create a bond between motherhood and sport. So for those women whether during pregnancy or postpartum, you’ll always the urge you’ve always wanted for sport with this collection.

According to the sportswear brand, Nike M was created after analyzing the body scans of more than 150,000 around the world. The help of designers who gathered the data on fit, feel, and function of over 30 female pregnant or postpartum athletes also helped the design process.

“The more we listened to expecting mothers and postpartum mothers, the more we learned, reworked and innovated through inclusive design,” says Carmen Zolman, Nike Senior Design Director for Apparel Innovation. “It’s the project of a lifetime to work in lockstep with all kinds of mothers to bring to life a capsule that truly supports women’s relationship with sport during such a transformative time in their lives.”

In the four-piece capsule collection, there’s a sports bra for easy access during the time for breastfeeding, there’s a scoop neck tank for convenient nursing, there’s also a pair of leggings that gives you options to cover or show off the tummy, and a reversible jacket to cover-up.
