Everyone has a beauty secret and it can be a real challenge to determine the ideal beauty routine that works for us individually. That is why we were instantly inspired when Cardi B revealed the hair care routine she’s been sticking with for years.
On Friday, Cardi took to Instagram to reveal her hair care secrets while showcasing her super lustrous long hair. In the social media post, the mother-of-two shared a photo that showcase the back side of her voluminous hair and the next slide is a video of the “Hot Shit” singer styling the cleavage-hovering long hair with her hands. With the smooth texture, the sheen of the hair could easily be felt and appears to be a recent longer length.
According to the star, she boils onions and then uses the water to wash her hair. For Cardi, it’s her fail-safe routine of 6-years ago although she gets lazy sometimes.
“My last 2 washes I been boiling onions and using the water to wash my hair,” the post captioned. “I used to do this 6 years ago when I started my healthy hair growth journey.I stopped cause I got really lazy. Its odorless and I notice that it’s been giving a shine to my hair.”

This is not the first time the singer is talking about her hair. In November 2021, she released a lengthy post in response to fans who were criticizing her hair that women of color have ‘bad hair.’ The post was shared along with a photo of her childhood.
“Why everytime I post my natural hair I hear “you’re MIXED you’re supposed to have long hair”? That’s not true and very misleading,” she wrote in the Instagram post as she advised other women not to succumb to the belief that women of color have bad hair. As she pointed out, good hair isn’t about a certain texture.
Read more about Cardi’s message below and swipe right to see her lovely natural hair journey.I been posting pics of my hair journey for years and being mixed don’t mean your hair is always long and curly, that wasn’t my case. Since I was a child I have problems with managing my hair and couple years ago I find different methods that work for me and look at my length now. They’ll try to make us believe our hair won’t grow this long it’s not true. A lot of hair products we used back then wasn’t good for our hair but that’s all we had to choose from also we couldn’t afford to get to the salon regularly, if at all. now everybody is getting better options, making affordable GOOD products, learning from natural hair YouTube and tiktok about how to care for our hair better. I want women of color with tighter curl patterns to know that you don’t have “BAD HAIR” there’s no such thing as bad hair . and “good” hair don’t mean a certain texture. ALL HAIR IS GOOD.
