Nigerian fashion brand, Ian Audifferen, chose artistic fashion over science as the self-taught designer dropped a career in microbiology to make ready-to-wear menswear on the platform of his trending brand, Tzar Studios. The Lagos-based designer believes that fabric is the most important element of design and he plays with texture, pattern, and color in a relaxed sort of tailoring to bring some calm and fun. In his autumn-winter 2019 collection; he uses contrasting Ankara fabrics to make half-half shirts, and plays around the Iro and Buba in his reinterpretation of traditional Yoruba dressing and culture.
