With all the hypes and buzzes that was surrounding Princess Eugenie’s wedding, we always knew it was going to be a stylish and another big royal wedding. Because naturally, how could we expect anything less?
The big day finally came yesterday as Princess Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, wearing a bespoke Princess-worthy gown created by Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos. This beautiful, romantic gown featured a unique V-shape neckline and a low backline that is connected to Eugenie’s childhood history.

According to the reports, the Princess had hinted she wanted to make a part of her big day to show the beauty in what she had been through. And that is the scars from the surgery she had when she was 12 to correct her scoliosis.
“During several fittings the dress was developed layer by layer, constructing it from the corset and the complex underskirt to the fitted bodice and full pleated skirt,” the royal family said in a statement on their website. “The dress features a neckline that folds around the shoulders to a low back that drapes into a flowing full-length train. The low back feature on the dress was at the specific request of Princess Eugenie who had surgery aged 12 to correct scoliosis.”

As stated by the royal family, her dress was finished with Charlotte Olympia peep-toe heels and topped off with Queen’s Greville Emerald Kokoshnik, made in 1919 and “made of brilliant and rose cut diamonds pavé set in platinum, with six emeralds on either side.”
