We are not talking about the swimwear round which we all saw bunch of flawless bod or Victoria’s Secret angels with angelic wings. We mean the segment in the 63rd annual competition of the Miss Universe competition where contestants took part in National Costume.
It was the most interesting part of the Miss Universe 2015 competition on Wednesday night, women wore an outfit that represents a key element of the culture in their home country – outfits included Celtic warriors, Aboriginal sunsets, flowering trees and see-through gowns.
The show taking place at Florida International University in Miami with 88 beauties from all over the world vying to replace last year’s winner Miss Venezuela. The beauties wore an elaborate range of costumes from Miss Canada, who displayed her country’s love of hockey by taking the stage with a scoreboard on her shoulders, to Miss USA who took the stars and stripes motto of the country to a whole new level. And you just have to see to believe Miss Venezuela’s national tree of Venezuela.

Miss Venezuela dressed up as a shimmering Tabebuia chrysantha, the national tree of the South American country.
This Caribbean beauty is from St. Lucia and she went with an updated version of the national dress for the costume competition.
Miss Russia wore this white embroidered gown inspired by the Byzantine era, with an equally impressive headdress, that reminded us of the Pope.

Miss Canada: Chanel Beckenlehner came dressed as a glamorous ice hockey player, complete with working scoreboard and ice hockey stick. Her hairstyle was a copycat of the country’s hockey tournament trophy, The Stanley Cup. Ice hockey is the official national winter sport of Canada
Miss Sri Lanka made her extravagant costume herself!
Miss USA: Nia Sanchez came dressed in an elaborate version of the stars and stripes on the American flag. The metre-long white feathers were all hand-stitched onto the silk corset
Miss Jamaica: Kaci Fennell came dressed as in carnival gear – which is one of the key moments in the Jamaican calendar
Miss Portugal’s costume depicts two birds, including the Rooster of Barcelos, the fictional national bird of the country. Who knew countries had fictional national birds?
Miss Singapore embodied a shooting star at the costume competition.
Miss Kosovo: Artnesa Krasniqi’s version of Kosovan national dress would most likely make many of her fellow countrymen blush.
