In our daily lives, many of us are so glued to wearing the headscarf as a major accessory: We have our earrings and every other accessories on, and then we found that our looks can never be completed without a piece of headscarf on the head. Well, we’ve seen a lot of women like that – think of Alicia Keys, Nnena of WrapLife, Ene Maya Lawani, Garuba Abiola, Paola Mathé and many more — these women sticks to headwraps as a lifestyle. How often do you wear yours? Twice a week? On the weekends? Or on the regular? Do you get compliments?
Not only is headwrap fun and playful, but also has the power to update any outfit and in recent times has become a large part of our wardrobe staples. But Nadiya Hussain, a 31-year-old mother of three and Bangladeshi who is based in the UK has revealed that her decision to wear the garment wasn’t quite what you might expect. She told The Times that she began wearing the scarf 17 years ago when headscarves weren’t very common. And adding to that, Nadiya said wearing the scarf was probably a way to cover up her ‘bad hair more than anything else’ because her father ‘cut it really badly.’
As Dailymail pointed out, Nadiya’s parents were confused by her decision to wear the scarf but she simply told them she didn’t care what society thought that she wore it for herself.
