Uti Nwachukwu Brought His Killer Style to Jade Osiberu’s “Christmas in Lagos” Movie Premiere
Uti Nwachukwu had a thematic red carpet moment last night for the premiere of “Christmas in Lagos,” a holiday romantic comedy by Jade Osiberu—the same producer and director behind the 2023 Nigerian thriller and crime film “Gangs of Lagos.”
In keeping with the film’s title and the joyful atmosphere of the holiday season, Uti embraced the Christmas spirit in a stunning coordinated green ensemble. His striking look featured a long-sleeved shirt paired with shimmering matching pants, a creation by the talented designer Black Adudu. Interestingly, this elegant outfit was initially designed for Uti’s 41st birthday celebration last year, but he dusted it off for the movie premiere, showcasing its timeless appeal.
To complete his outfit, Uti accessorized with brown footwear, a sleek chain necklace, sunglasses, and an array of rings, further enhancing his stylish presence on the red carpet.
In an interview with Fashion Police NG at the premiere, Uti Nwachukwu expressed his admiration for Jade Osiberu’s production, highlighting the film’s vibrant narrative and cultural significance.
“Christmas in Lagos” sets the stage for a series of interlocking narratives that capture the essence of Lagos during the vibrant “Detty December” celebrations. The story follows four friends as they navigate the complex terrain of friendship, love, and loss amid the backdrop of holiday festivities.
This premiere marks a significant release from Jade Osiberu, the visionary producer and director also known for the 2023 thriller “Gangs of Lagos.” Notably, “Christmas in Lagos” stands out as the only original production to emerge from Osiberu’s deal with Amazon Prime Video, which earlier announced a pause on original productions in Africa. Osiberu has confirmed her formal exit from this deal while continuing to foster creativity in the film industry.
The film boasts a talented ensemble cast, featuring names like Teniola Aladese, Shalom Obiago, Rayxia Ojo, and the esteemed Shaffy Bello. Additionally, “Christmas in Lagos” is set to delight audiences with on-screen appearances from notable Afrobeats artists, including the young vocal sensation Ayra Starr, promising an enchanting blend of music and storytelling.
