6 2019 Makeup Trends You Might Want to Try for The New Year

2019 has come and is about to go, leaving behind some surprising makeup trends that popped up or resurfaced during the year. We are talking about the likes of super bright rainbow eyeshadow, matching your lipstick to your nail polish, or going monochrome by coordinating your eyeshadow or lip color to your outfit. These trends were one of the highlights of the year, showing up in fashion weeks and Instagram if you’ve been paying attention to your timeline.

In the new year, there’s a huge possibility these trends aren’t going anywhere and are going to be bigger, brighter and bolder. There may be no more of the subtle moody looks. Instead, color is coming back with a bang. And if you haven’t test drive it yet, now is just the right time to shine yourself into the new year.

2020 is not about the simple thin eyeliner. Instead, with the new year, people are being more adventurous with their eyeliner and are making it float above the lash line for that big glam effect. To make this look even better, you can incorporate some of the other trends such as neon on the lid or even bolder color.

Monochromatic:

If you are looking for something clean and sleek, why not make everything monochromatic? That means you can match your eyeshadow to your lipstick to your blush and even to your outfit. This is a simple look without going overboard with colors.

Neon Everything:

The neon phase of the early 2000s is back with a bang. Everything from neon clothes to neon eyeliner is having a moment right now. If you are not into the neon clothing look, one way that you can incorporate neon into your beauty routine is a simple neon cat wing or even lower lash line.

Lower Liner or bottom eyeliner:

Just as with the neon, the lower lash liner trend from the 2000s seems to be coming back relentlessly. Many people are moving away from the top lid and are solely putting eyeshadow or liner on their bottom lash line. This is unique and stylish and is something that you can give a try easily.

Subtle Lips:

While 2019 was all about the bold lips and adventurous colors, 2020 is moving more towards subtle lips. Whether it be a nude lip or a simple gloss, the more natural your lips can look, the better. With that, you can throw in a bold eye look to tie it all together if you don’t want to go with the all-natural look.
