The Cold-Weather Skin Ca­re Routine You Should Follow


When the weather starts being colder, you may want to consider implementing a few changes to your skincare routine. Having a good skincare routine is essential when you’re going through any season. However, in the winter or during colder months, you need to make some adjustments so that your skin doesn’t get too dry or irritated. Below are some skincare tips that you should follow so that you can have glowing skin despite the cold weather:

Use hydrating products

Since the weather can be quite harsh and cold, it’s important to use products with hydrating ingredients such as aloe vera, shea butter, and coconut oil. Hydrating products like pyunkang yul moisture ampoule will keep your skin hydrated throughout the day, which means that your skin won’t feel tight or uncomfortable.  These moisturizing ingredients help to lock moisture into your skin so that it doesn’t get lost during the day as you use up all of its natural oils.

Physical exfoliants such as scrubs should only be used sparingly during cold weather. 

Instead, opt for chemical exfoliants. Products that contain BHA and AHA aren’t too harsh on the skin while still providing the benefits of exfoliation. They’re gentle enough to use in the winter months without causing irritation or leaving your skin red and irritated.

Wear the sunscreen, of course

You might think that wearing sunscreen during the colder months is unnecessary because there aren’t as many hours of sunlight. But, in reality, UV rays are still strong enough to penetrate clouds and reflect off surfaces. Therefore, you should wear sunscreen every time you step outside or even if you spend most of your time indoors (windows are a thing!). 

In addition, it’s important to reapply sunscreen at least every two hours so that you can protect your skin against UVA and UVB radiation. This habit will ensure that your skin stays protected from harmful sun rays.

Incorporate face masks

Face masks are a great way to deliver nutrients to your skin. They have different uses, depending on their ingredients. Some face masks help improve circulation, others boost the appearance of your complexion, and more. During the winter, you should consider using a mask once or twice a week.

For example, if you’re looking for a skincare routine for dry skin, then you may want to choose a mask that includes hyaluronic acid, an ingredient that helps retain water inside your skin. On the other hand, if you have oily skin, then you could try a mask that includes salicylic acid, an anti-inflammatory agent that removes excess oil. You can also add some extracts like aloe vera or green tea to create a mask that reduces redness and inflammation.

Remember the rest of your body

A skincare routine doesn’t only mean taking care of the face on your skin. Your entire body needs some attention too! While you’re applying lotions and creams to your face, be sure to moisturize your arms, legs, feet, and hands as well. In addition, it’s recommended to invest in a good quality body wash or shower gel that will provide moisture to all areas of your body. This can prevent your skin from drying out during the cold weather.
