For the past couple of weeks, you’ve probably found yourself glued to Instagram, eagerly following every detail of celebrity fashion designer Veekee James‘ (also known as Victoria James) wedding journey.
From her extravagant bridal shower to her stunning pre-wedding photoshoots, court wedding, and traditional wedding, it’s been a whirlwind of fashion moments one after the other.
Veekee James exchanged vows with her partner, Femi Atere, in Lagos on Saturday, February 10th, 2024. And, as expected, her white wedding dress was nothing short of spectacular—a true dream. After all, what else could we anticipate from a renowned fashion designer crafting her own wedding gown?
The bride made a stunning entrance down the aisle, accompanied by her brother, as she was decked out in a custom VEEKEE JAMES white high-neck, full-lace, long-sleeved wedding dress with flowing details at the back.
Photo Courtesy Simple yet extraordinary, the modest dress also featured a clingy corseted bodice and a trumpet hemline that added a classic touch to its modern design. She elegantly paired it with white Jimmy Choo heels and opted for minimal accessories, allowing the dress to take center stage.
Completing her ensemble was an exaggerated tulle veil, adding an ethereal touch to her look. She was breathtaking in this attire.
Not to be outdone, her husband looked equally dashing in his custom ATAFO tuxedo. He accessorized with Ray-Ban sunglasses, a Fossil watch, and brown oxfords from Adams Kahz, perfectly complementing his bride’s attire.
Without a doubt, we anticipated that this esteemed fashion designer would grace us with more than one stunning dress, and she did just that.
During the reception, the bride made a quick outfit change, dazzling us once again with another exquisite dress. This time, the bride opted for a white silky gown with a nostalgic nod to the 90s, featuring an oversized bow adorning the back.
The dress boasted pleated sleeves adorned with pearls, making a bold statement while seamlessly blending with the overall aesthetic. Fitted throughout the bodice, the trumpet gown gracefully cascaded into voluminous skirting, beginning at mid-thigh.
While the dress showcased remarkable elements such as the striking bow, pleated sleeves, and intricate pearl embroidery, it was undoubtedly the train that elevated the look to sheer perfection. Paired with her epic veil, the effect was simply astonishing.
Her husband complemented her ensemble with a classic black tuxedo, waistcoat, crisp white shirt, black bow tie, and polished black shoes.
For her third outfit, Veekee James opted for a sleeveless black corseted ball gown adorned with delicate diamonds. She accessorized the look with a matching sparkling headpiece and sheer, delicate gloves. Meanwhile, her husband ditched his tuxedo for a more relaxed yet sophisticated attire, consisting of a waistcoat, shirt, and bow tie.
The newlywed bride, known for her penchant for extravagance, made yet another stunning wardrobe change for her after-party. Clad in a custom VEEKEE JAMES dress, adorned with intricate beadwork that created a mesmerizing tear-drop illusion and accented with delicate floral embellishments, she exuded elegance and charm.
Her hair styled in a chic half-up, half-down ‘do, perfectly complemented the outfit. She accessorized with understated gold earrings, a matching purse, and shoes.
The nuptial celebration unfolded in Lagos, transforming into a shimmering wonderland where dreams came true. Every moment of the white wedding captivated us with sheer enchantment! The couple’s captivating style and genuine connection left us in awe.
Adding to the magic, the bride extended a special invitation to 200 city choirs, adding a melodic symphony to the celebration. The pinnacle of the celebration arrived as she joined them in a heartfelt rendition of her own released song “Olugbeja,” offering praises to God while adorned in her radiant white gown, transforming her wedding into a soulful concert.
With Pastor Bolaji Idowu from the Harvesters International Christian Centre officiating the ceremony, the event was truly a magnificent spectacle to behold.
The wedding embraced a ‘Classic Vintage’ theme, and many of the wedding guests effortlessly embodied the essence of this theme, showcasing stunning outfits.
