After being spotted on both Spring and Fall runways as well as on the street style scene last year, it became apparent wearing mismatched shoes was slaying its way to the forefront of fashion. But not until actress Naomie Harris tried it out earlier this year at the Oscars and the most recent happened to be Nicole Kidman who also gave the trend a nod of approval at the Emmys Awards last night.
Getty Making an arrival on the red carpet, the Australian actress wore one of her go-to designers, Calvin Klein. The fit and flare red dress featured a dramatic neckline but the majority of the attention was directed to her statement shoes.
Getty Sometimes, mismatched shoes can differ in the color or juxtaposed buckles on the shoes but Kidman’s version features interchangeable straps that were easy to detect. Take, for instance, one leg of the shoe had some sparkling embellishments on the ankle strap, while the other can be seen on the toe strap.
Getty Naomi and Kidman have taken the trend to red carpet’s spotlight and it’s already making splashes on the streets as well, which means it’s time to start thinking of your own take on the style.
