Most Ugliest Shoe Trend On The Street of Lagos

The following shoe designs does not make any sense to me, they’re ugly and the trends disturb me. While I love outrageous footwear and fashion, I’ve yet to see the charms of gladiator sandals or faux snake skin shoes. That being said, I firmly believe that great things are accomplished by those who take chances — and if that’s true, some wonderful things are in store for the creators (and followers) of the following bad shoe trends.

1. Designer Patent Leather Casual Shoe

For sure many fashion forward guys will disagree with me on this, but I just don’t like the shoe, especially the pointy toe metal tip. Another fact is being making it look like is made with a genuine Italian leather. Generally, the shoe is ugly.

2. Gladiator Sandals.

For the girl on the go who wants to look as if she just might hurl a spear at a charging lion at a moment’s notice, may we recommend gladiator sandals. The gladiator sandal trend has had a longer lifespan than most Roman slaves but why would someone want shoes that require the fastening of more straps than a seat on the space shuttle? Like emperors of yore, we give these an emphatic ‘thumbs down’, though such a declaration won’t, unfortunately, meet with the same result as it did in Ancient Rome.

3. Crocs

I don’t mean to insult the rubber footwear makers….they did a great job, but I definitely think this trend has been somewhat abused. I know they’re comfortable, and I’m aware that for a lot of professionals who stand on their feet all day long, these shoes border on being a neccessity.
Undoubtedly the ugliest shoes in recent memory, crocs are only appropriate footwear if you’re cleaning out a really dirty pool, and they are a slight step above wearing plastic bags on your feet. They also apparently are more efficient at facilitating foot stink than other shoes. Most stop wearing plastic shoes at the age when one’s love of cartoons no longer dictates one’s choice in footwear, yet this trend caught on internationally. Have seen men and women around town rocking this shoe as if they’re modeling it for the makers….don’t forget its purpose.

4. Vibram Five Fingers

This is yet another ugly shoe in town. Given the horrors we’ve detailed on this list, it should come as no surprise that most people would prefer to go to barefoot if they could. But unless you’re at home, on a beach or walking to the nearest police station after a thorough mugging, it is advisable to wear shoes — feet not having yet evolved to cope with broken beer bottles. I ask myself one question…Does it really mean people does not know the purpose of things that they’re are using?

5. Men’s Dress Sandal

I appreciate the notion of cool and comfortable summer footwear as much as anyone, but men’s sandals that attempt to be professional really take the concept a bit too far.
It’s a sad fact that business menswear is uncomfortable during the hot season, but none the less, it is a fact. Just like you wouldn’t ditch your suit pants for madras shorts, leave the sandals for after work.

6. Ostrich Shoes

I know there are many fashion-forward guys who will disagree with me on this one, but for some reason, the ostrich thing just isn’t working for me.
For starters, whether the shoes are made of real ostrich or fake ostrich, it looks as if they’ve been infected with some sort of pox, or as if some other really terrible thing has befallen a perfectly fine pair of dress shoes.
When it comes to dress shoes, I definitely prefer a sleeker look, but I have the utmost respect for a guy who’ll throw caution to the wind when it comes to footwear and fashion.
