Margot Robbie Basically Channeled a Hot Pink Barbie at the 2024 Golden Globes

At the 2024 Golden Globes last night, Margot Robbie made a stunning entrance as she continued her streak of pink ensembles for the Barbie movie.  Robbie’s stylist, Andrew Mukamal, once again showed his creativity by dressing the actress in a custom Giorgio Armani Privé gown inspired by the iconic Barbie from 1977.

The gown was a showstopper, with its hot pink sequined fabric and V-neck straps. The floor-sweeping hemline added a touch of elegance to the ensemble. But what caught everyone’s attention was the matching tulle pink boa that Robbie wrapped herself with. The boa, covered in polka dots, added a playful and whimsical element to the overall look.

To complete the Barbie-inspired ensemble, Margot Robbie accessorized with giant diamond earrings and carried a coordinating pink clutch. Her blonde hair was styled in loose waves with a center part, perfectly complementing the glamorous outfit. From head to toe, Robbie truly embodied the spirit of Barbie with her outfit choice for the evening.

It’s no surprise that Barbie secured a total of nine nominations at the 2024 Golden Globes, including Robbie’s nomination for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. The actress, who portrayed the iconic doll in a highly successful movie, took home the award alongside her team in the Golden Globe’s new cinematic and Box Office achievement category.

Robbie’s win was well-deserved, as she went head-to-head with talented actresses like Fantasia Barrino for The Color Purple, Jennifer Lawrence in No Hard Feelings, Natalie Portman in May December, Alma Pöysti for Fallen Leaves, and Emma Stone in Poor Things.

“Thank you so much to the Golden Globes for creating an award that celebrates movie fans,” the Barbie producer and star Margot Robbie said in her speech while accepting the first-ever Golden Globe for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement. “It’s a movie about Barbie, but it’s also a movie about humans. It’s about you. We made it for you, and we made it with love. Thank you for loving it back.”

Standing next to co-writer and director Greta Gerwig, Robbie added, “We would like to thank every single person on the planet who dressed up and went to the greatest place on Earth: the movie theater.” She thanked the “brave souls” at Warner Bros. and Mattel for “taking an extraordinary risk” “literally inventing numbers to justify green-lighting” the project and then “standing by it every step of the way.”
