After missing in action at the 2020 Golden Globes, Lupita Nyong’o returned to the red carpet a few days later to steal the spotlight. The actress looked her usual flawless self in an eye-catching Valentino dress during the NY Film Critics Circle Awards at TAO Downtown in New York on Tuesday.
Nyong’o, who won the trophy for Best Actress for her role in Us, wore a vibrant neon green Valentino dress. Looking majestic, the neon-hued sleeveless ensemble features a cinched waist, pleat motifs and long capes cascading from each shoulder. She kept her accessories minimal, opting for cute small earrings that added extra wow-factor to the look.
As for her beauty look, Nyong’o isn’t the type that disappoints and we can even bet she sometimes style her hair by herself. While opting for a subtle shimmery eye-shadow and glossy lavender lips, the 36-year-old styled her hair into an elegant updo with the edges gelled to frame her forehead.
This comes just after the Keyan beauty wore Rastafarian-inspired dreadlocks during her visit to Ghana over the weekend. Nyong’o who also visited other African countries such as Benin, Morocco, shared a photo of her dreadlocks, saying that Ghana is so good. “Ghana is goooooooood,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, her dress was plucked out from Valentino’s Spring/Summer 2020 Women’s Collection, which was showcased during Paris fashion week last September. This means the reign for neon green continues. So if there’s one color you need to try out this year, it has to be this vibrant hue.
