Who is Ayo Edebiri?

Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, the actress was born to Barbadian and Nigerian immigrants. Upon completing high school, Edebiri secured admission to New York University, where she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Teaching. Despite her initial aspirations of becoming an English teacher, Edibiri’s journey turned unexpectedly toward comedy.

The talented actress began with stand-up comedy, captivating audiences on different stages in New York City, and later made her way to the exciting platform of Comedy Central’s Up Next.

Ayo’s breakthrough came in 2022 with her role in the comedy-drama “The Bear”, earning her a well-deserved Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series. Since then, the comic actress has showcased her talent in the raunchy comedy film “Bottoms” as well as in hit series like “Abbott Elementary” and “Black Mirror.”
