When it comes to representing your country, especially in a mega-event such as the ongoing Dubai Expo 2020, you’re going to want to pull out all the stops – and that’s exactly what South African actress and TV host, Nomzamo Mbatha, did on Sunday night. Mbatha hosted the Multichoice One Night With Mzansi in Dubai, a night that was set aside by the South African government to celebrate the country’s finest talents and culture on the global stage, wearing a stunning ball gown by a South African label, Willet Designs Couture.
The show took place at the Dubai Opera House and had in attendance South Africa’s high-profile figures who jetted in from across the world to witness the global event. According to the actress, ‘it was an opportunity for her to pay an homage to South Africa.’

Nomzamo wore the strapless number with dangling earrings and styled her curls into a messy updo. As for the glam, the South African star opted for subtle makeup and complimentary lipstick. She was clearly in love with the look and shared the photo on Instagram last night.
“Dubai nights. This is not actually the first time that Mbatha has worn a showstopping Willet Designs look. During the Global Citizen Live about three weeks ago, she attended the show in New York, where she wore the brand’s creation to meet and greet Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

At the show which was broadcasted live across the globe, the British royals spoke about Covid-19 vaccine equity.
“Every single person on this planet has a fundamental right to get this vaccine — that’s the point, but that’s not happening,” Markle said. “And while in this country and many others, you can go almost anywhere and get vaccinated, billions of people around the world cannot.”
“This year, the world’s expected to produce enough doses to meet the target of vaccinating 70% of people in every single country. But it is wrong that so much of the vaccine supply has only gone to just 10 wealthy nations so far, and not everyone else,” she continued. “It’s just not okay.”
However, as the world gathers in Dubai for the Expo 2020, a trip to the South African pavilion will take you on a journey of the country’s culture, tradition, and its vision for the future.
