Naomi Campbell’s 2022 Met Gala Necklace Is Worth Over $6.6 Million

The theme for the 2022 Met Gala was “Gilded Glamour” and Naomi Campbell interpreted it in the best possible way. While celebs like Kim Kardashian could go a long way to dye to hair platinum blonde in other to channel Marilyn Monroe for the annual fundraising gala, everything expected was possible.

For Naomi Campbell, the theme was better translated along with pricey accessories. The supermodel wore a black-and-silver bejeweled Burberry floor-length gown, embroidered with the brand’s logo. The shimmering black dress was offset with dangling silver earrings with matching jewels to adorn her perfectly contoured cheeks, dark eye-shadow, and pink lip beauty look. The mother-of-one also added two necklaces — a yellow diamond Jacob & Co necklace comfortable seated on her neck behind a chunky silver choker.

According to the brand, the piece of jewelry features 37 “round brilliant cut natural fancy yellow diamonds,” costing a whopping $6.6 million. Speaking with InStyle, the brand further revealed that the 161.52-carat accessory with an 18-karat yellow gold was sourced and created in two years.

It was not however a surprise to see Campbell wearing Burberry at the 2022 Met Gala. While the dress was a beautiful piece created in heaven for the supermodel, she is Riccardo Tisci’s muse and has been fronting campaigns for the British luxury fashion house. Last year, she was announced as the face of the Burberry’s TB Summer Monogram collection, where she posed in a series of swimwear and pieces with the interlocking TB logo.

“I wanted to celebrate the balance of our heritage with the importance of always evolving and looking forward,” said Tisci, Burberry’s chief creative officer. “The collection captures that optimistic feeling of summer and that feeling of constant momentum — the excitement for what’s next. I couldn’t think of anyone better to symbolize this enduring nature than my incredible friend, Naomi.”
