Nancy Isime Looks Like A True “Efik” Woman in Their Gorgeous Traditional Attire

One thing to love about the “Efik” people is their traditional attire and if you don’t believe us ask Nacy Isime.

The “Nancy Isime” Talk show host and Nollywood actress hosted the “Black History and Lifestyle Awards” alongside AY Makun in Lagos, in celebration of “our root and black excellence” as part of Black History Month. For the ceremony which took place at the Federal Palace Hotel and Casino in Lagos, Isime paid tribute to the Efik People — an ethnic group in the southern part of Nigeria.

The actress looked uber pretty as she wore the Efik ceremonial masterpiece made up of a cute blouse and a mini-length wrapper wrapped around her waist as a skirt. In keeping the look in tandem as a true Efik woman, Isime then decorated herself with eye-catching accessories like the colorful raffias she’s wearing on her hands and legs. She also topped up the fabulous attire with a headpiece called “Ibuot Abang” (in the local dialect), while carrying the bird-feathered decorated cane stem called Basinko.

“Last night, I had the best time hosting the Black History and Lifestyle Awards with @aycomedian in this gorgeous Efik Ensemble💚,” the actress captioned the post on Instagram.

This is not the first or second time the actress’ wardrobe is inspired by culture. In 2021, she took inspiration from the South African Zulu culture for her outfit when she hosted the Global Citizen Live in Lagos with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu

And just recently, during her 2022 Christmas holiday which she holidayed in India, the Nigerian Edo state native, transformed herself into an Indian woman.
