This selfie comes shortly after Gomez shared a heartfelt Valentine’s Day tribute to her boyfriend, Benny Blanco, It is evident, however, that love is fully in the air for Gomez, as she continues to express her affection for her boyfriend. “I love you,” she wrote on her Instagram story to her millions of followers, alongside a photo of herself and the American record producer.

However, in an interview with People magazine last December, Gomez shared her perspective on beauty and emphasized the importance of embracing one’s unique qualities. She believes that beauty should not be defined by conforming to one specific look but rather by celebrating the rare and individual qualities that each person possesses.

Gomez understands firsthand the pressure of meeting appearance expectations, particularly growing up in the spotlight. This experience motivated her to challenge the unrealistic standards of perfection perpetuated by the beauty industry.

“My fundamental belief is that everyone possesses a unique and rare quality, and feeling beautiful doesn’t require conforming to one specific look,” she said.

“I personally experienced the pressure to meet certain appearance expectations growing up, which made me want to challenge the unrealistic standards of perfection in the beauty industry.

With Rare Beauty, I get to use beauty and makeup to break down these ideals. I’m focused on creating positive conversations about mental health and self-acceptance. I want to play a part in breaking the stigma around mental health and mental illness, making these discussions more open and accepted.”

Through her brand Rare Beauty, Gomez aims to create positive conversations surrounding mental health and self-acceptance. She acknowledges the power of beauty and makeup in breaking down societal beauty standards and believes that they can be used as tools to promote mental well-being. Gomez’s ultimate goal is to break the stigma surrounding mental health and mental illness, encouraging open and accepted discussions about these topics.

For the star, “Self-care looks different depending on how much time I have. I find comfort in hanging out with friends and family, especially my sister Gracie. Simple things like lighting a candle, taking a bath, or just cuddling with my dogs are my go-to self-care rituals.”
