The second Saturday of August 2021 may have been a usual day but not for Adebola Williams and Kehinde Daniel, the daughter of Nigeria’s ex-governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel. It was a memorable day as the two lovebirds finally tied the knot in an extravagant wedding ceremony awash with past and present government officials as well as celebrities.
Taking place in Lagos, the nuptials started with a Church service and of course, ended with a reception party, where the couple and wedding guests seized the opportunity to parade themselves in stunning and matching traditional creations (a.k.a Owambe) in honor of the culture.

The bride first wore a beautiful pearl embroidered, fit and flare white gown by Atafo, made a quick change, and slipped into her native wear — a grey asoebi style featuring a wrapper, blouse with sweetheart neckline, lace sleeves, finished with a matching headwrap and a statement coral necklace.
The groom who made a dapper husband in his sharp white and black suiting separates with absolute precision by the same designer also switched into his color-coordinated native attire (a.k.a Agbada), a look which he completed with a hat, super long coral beads necklace and bangles, and a traditional staff.

As for the celebrities, it was also the time to show what you’ve got. Both men and ladies brought their sartorial game for the day and took some chances along the way. Understanding the asoebi assignment completely, stars like Omotola Jalade showed up in an ensemble that flaunted her hourglass curves perfectly.
