Just in case the word ‘Efik’ sounds a bit vague to your understanding, it’s a name referred to an ethnic group located primarily in the southeastern part of Nigeria. Efik people are predominantly found in Cross River State and they exhibit one of the most beautiful cultures in the entire West African states.
When it comes to a marriage ceremony, with their unique, jaw-droppingly stylish outfit backed up with statement accessories, these people guarantee to give you a masterclass in nailing a wedding day glamour. Check out Inemesit and her white beau Alex, who tied the knot over the weekend in Lagos:
Inem and Alex held a gorgeous ceremony at Civic Center, gathering all their friends for the occasion, where the bride paid a tribute to her tradition by slipping into a beautiful, flowing strapless grey gown (aka Onyonyo) and groom wearing a matching set finished with headwear and walking stick.
As a typical Efik bride, Inem’s hair was uniquely styled and adorned with gold jewelry, and we can tell she was the dream of every man, especially after completing her look with complementary drop earrings and a touch of a soft smile. Though this part was just the genesis of the romantic affair, her reception gown would make any girl weak at the knee.
Just a moment later, the ceremony was transitioned into a white wedding atmosphere. For the occasion, the bride once again pulled out all the stops to send her guests into daydreaming. She chose a minimalistic wedding gown featuring clean lines combined with ladylike details and it was plucked from a Spanish designer, Pronovias.
But it’s her reception dress that’s everything in our eyes. It is princess-worthy, floor-grazing, exquisite detailing, and the gold hue exudes class. Check out this stunning number from a Lagos-based designer, Luminee Official:
With the matching earrings, we can’t get enough of the look. Congratulations are in order for the latest couple.
