Selena Gomez just turned 31 on Saturday, July 22.
And just in time when the Barbie-inspired color is the theme of the season, the singer celebrated the birthday like a typical Barbie girl. From gorgeous pink cakes (one of which was decorated with pink roses) to the pink dress code for friends and family, and even theme food, let’s not even talk about pink eyeshadow and lipstick, Selena Gomez honestly had a blast for her 31st birthday celebration.
She started the birthday celebration with a picture of herself blowing out candles on a cake. In the photo taken from her bedroom, Gomez who was sitting on the bed is dressed casually in a pink t-shirt complete with coordinated makeup look, massive hoop earrings, and two strings of pearl necklace. Her hair was party-ready as she left her black locks loosed into voluminous, shoulder-bouncing wavy curls.

As an advocate of mental health, Gomez used the opportunity to encourage friends and followers not to send any gifts in celebration of her birthday but to rather donate to the Rare Impact Fund, an organization she founded as part of Rare Beauty’s commitment to raising $100 million over the next ten years to expand access to mental health services and education for young people around the world.
“I am thankful for so much in my life and one of the things I am most thankful for is the work we’ve been able to do with the Rare Impact Fund through @Rarebeauty,” Gomez wrote in the birthday post. “Because of YOU we’ve been able to raise awareness and increase access to mental health services for young people. This is my true passion in life.”
She continued: “People keep asking me what I want for my birthday, and I tell everyone the same thing please do not get me anything but if you want to do something for my birthday, please donate to the Rare Impact Fund. If you have the means, consider donating to help us make a difference.”
Following the post, however, the brunette beauty shared another look of which she was getting ready for the day. As usual, Gomez looked pretty in a gorgeous red mini-dress covered completely with flowers. The strapless number in question is from Bottega Veneta Spring 2023 collection which she teamed with strappy black Magda Butrym heels with red floral appliques on the back. Gomez then raised her beauty stakes with a half-up half-down hairstyle, black eyeliner with glamourous makeup, and hoop earrings.

The Only Murders In the Building star could be seen in the photos having a moment with friends, which included Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera, Connar Franklin, Karol G, Benny Blanco, and Sabrina Claudio. She was seen again blowing out the candles on a cake (but a white cake with red roses, this time).
But however, the birthday celebration was just getting started as the Calm Down singer enjoyed a private screening of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie with some close friends and family members. She shared the photos on her Instagram Story and her friend Connar Franklin also shared some on her IG Story:
