Naomi Campbell is Leading The Supermodel Pack For Victoria’s Secret ‘Icon’ Campaign

On its journey towards a more inclusive and diverse approach in the fashion industry, Victoria’s Secret has enlisted some of the most iconic supermodels from its prime, including Naomi Campbell, to introduce a new collection of bras and underwear known as ‘Icon’. This campaign initiative is an important part of VS’s marketing strategy, leading up to the forthcoming Victoria’s Secret World Tour set to debut on Amazon Prime Video on September 26.

The lineup of supermodels in the Icon campaign truly lives up to the term “icon.” Familiar faces such as Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, and Gisele Bündchen, who were longtime ambassadors and models in Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show from the 1990s through the 2010s, also form a significant part of the cast. Bündchen, Lima, and Swanepoel were integral to the cherished “Angels” brand, which the company phased out in 2021 as part of its rebranding effort.

These three individuals had been associated with the brand for years, appearing in campaigns and the renowned Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, even gracing the coveted “Fantasy Bra” on occasions. The company later introduced campaigns featuring representatives known as the VS Collective, which included notable figures like soccer star Megan Rapinoe and actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

Alongside these familiar faces in the Victoria’s Secret campaign are newer supermodels such as Adut Akech, Emily Ratajkowski, Hailey Bieber, Paloma Elsesser, and Sui He. Some of them are also part of the VS Collective, a group of seven women who joined the campaign after the discontinuation of the “Angels” team in 2021.

The highlights of the campaign include the new and improved Push-Up Demi Bra designed to lift and enhance the natural shape of the wearer. Interestingly, some of the individuals featured in the visuals will also take part in the Victoria’s Secret World Tour, set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 26.

Naomi Campbell, a seasoned part of the campaign, expressed the importance of her involvement in highlighting underrepresented creatives. She emphasized the collaborative nature of the experience, applauding Victoria’s Secret’s creative director, Raúl Martinez, and his team for incorporating her insights about her work with emerging creatives worldwide.

“I’m very proud of this whole experience because it wasn’t just me modeling for Victoria’s Secret—it was a collaboration of everyone’s efforts and incorporating young creatives that would never get this platform or this opportunity,” she said in an interview with Vogue.

The new collection not only promises innovative lifting and shaping technology in the push-up demi bra, as stated in its press release but also hints at the return of the fashion show after a four-year hiatus.

The reimagined runway event is set to debut in the fall, and while details are limited, the brand is building anticipation with the promise of a star-studded lineup, featuring some of the models from the campaign.

Meanwhile, in a recent announcement, Doja Cat will take the spotlight as a headline performer during the VS World Tour. As per the singer, she has been a major fan of the lingerie giant partnering with the VS is an “incredible experience.”

“Victoria’s Secret has always been such a fun, go-to brand for me since early on, and I love that I can still say that today,” Doja to Bazaar. “Being a part of a global phenomenon like the Tour has been an incredible experience.”
