The year 2020 may be disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but fashion will always continue, regardless. This is evident in the Spring 2021 New York Fashion Week where fashion brands are pulling out all the stops to ensure social distancing is fully observed in response to the health and safety guidelines. For Christian Siriano, the show was better staged at his backyard, a peaceful and serene ambiance with a forest of trees giving off a nature backdrop. There was also a somewhat swimming pool where Siriano created his runway out of it.
As for the collection, the 34-year-old American designer had his focus on sleek and extravagant silhouettes on workwear pieces, party, and dramatic red carpet confections—all which came complete with matching face masks, and fedora for some looks. Inspired by the movies Christian Siriano actually watched during the Covid-19 lockdown, his Spring/Summer 2021 runway presentation was the kind of show that would anyone want more, especially when Coco Rocha jumped inside the swimming in her complete ensemble.
“Fabrics, shapes, and silhouettes from each film are referenced in this collection but in a new modern way for our customer,” Siriano said. “The collection feels romantic with touches of evening however some of our favorite pieces this season are made of a light heather gray knit for easy living – while remaining chic and elegant. Even at home, things can inspire us, and I hope this collection shows that fashion remains powerful despite the circumstances.”
