Paris Fashion Week Will Still Hold In Real Life This September

With the uncertainty still going on around the world over the pandemic, the fashion industry has also been swept into a state of confusion. No one could really tell whether there will ever be IRL fashion week again and everyday brands seem to be opting out of the upcoming Fashion Month show calendars.

While efforts have been put in place, at least, to make the coming shows accessible through a virtual experience like the Paris Haute Couture which is going digital this July, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, the governing body for the French fashion industry has confirmed the spring 2021 ready-to-wear shows will still take place in Paris this September. Taking place from the 28th of September through 6th October, FHCM promises to “comply [with] the recommendations of public authorities.”

Considering the list of labels taking the independent route, it’s still not certain which designer is showing. For instance, brands like Dior, Burberry, and Ermenegildo Zegna will adopt what it’s called “phygital” a physical and digital experience ‘with limited or no audiences to be broadcast to the public via Livestream or video,’ according to Vogue.

Other brands going off the fashion calendar include Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs, Dries Van Noten, and Michael Kors.
