Nike’s New Plus-Size Collection Will Boost More Confidence In Plus-Size Women

Plus-size women are one of those the fashion industry is paying less attention to, making them lack the confidence in their body shapes and sizes. But that is about to change. Case in point: plus-size women are beginning to walk the runway during fashion week and Nike just gave the people over size 16 a nod of respect with their first workout plus-size collection.

In the campaign shot by JKG Photography, the athletic brand teamed with two plus-size influencers Grace Victory and Danielle Vanier where they are pictured modeling the pieces. According to brand’s spokesperson, “Nike recognizes that women are stronger, bolder and more outspoken than ever.” In today’s world, sport is no longer something that she does, it’s who she is. The days where we have to add ‘female’ before ‘athlete’ are over. She is an athlete, period. And having helped fuel this cultural shift, we celebrate these athletes’ diversity, from ethnicity to body shape.”
