Bvlgari Just Tapped Chimamanda Adichie for its Latest Campaign

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, acclaimed Nigerian author and feminist, continues to connect literature, culture, and luxury.

On the 9th of March, 2026, Bvlgari named her a Friend of the House and featured her as one of five global icons in the “Carrying Culture” campaign for the limited-edition Bvlgari Icons Minaudière collection.

Photographed by Ethan James Green, with creative direction by Ferdinando Verderi and design by Mary Katrantzou, the campaign highlights the intersection of culture, emotion, heritage, and personal storytelling. Adichie’s presence in the campaign exemplifies both intellectual depth and modern elegance.

In the campaign, Chimamanda Adichie wears a structured white collared gown with clean lines, letting it fall down her shoulder, drawing attention to the Bvlgari jewelry and symbolic minaudière she carries. Her hair is styled in long, pulled-back braids, enhancing her poised appearance. She accessorizes with stacked gold B.zero1 rings and bracelets, which contrast with the gown’s simplicity.

The Bvlgari minaudière, a circular gold clutch with mother-of-pearl inlays and the double-logo motif, stands out for its craftsmanship. Each minaudière includes a bespoke miniature book; Adichie’s, titled “Notes on Creating Culture,” adds a personal literary element to the accessory.

Chimamanda Adichie’s look conveys confidence and intellectual sophistication. The gown’s clean lines suggest purity and strength, while the gold jewelry adds warmth and a sense of heritage.

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s literary legacy is monumental. She rose to international acclaim with her debut novel Purple Hibiscus (2003), followed by the Orange Prize-winning Half of a Yellow Sun (2006), which vividly portrayed the Biafran War. Americanah (2013) became a global sensation for its sharp exploration of race, immigration, and identity. Her TED Talk-turned-essay “We Should All Be Feminists” (2014) sparked worldwide conversations on gender equality, inspiring the Beyoncé-sampled track and countless adaptations.

Non-fiction works like Dear Ijeawele, or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions (2017) and Notes on Grief (2021) further cemented her as a voice on feminism, loss, and Nigerian identity. Her most recent novel, Dream Count (released prior to 2026), follows four interconnected women navigating love, identity, and modern complexities, earning praise as one of the year’s most anticipated literary events.

In addition to her literary achievements, Adichie is recognized as a fashion and cultural figure. She often appears at major events in attire that blends Nigerian heritage with modern style, including bold prints, tailored suits, and elegant gowns.

Notable appearances include the Met Gala, international literary festivals, and high-profile talks, where her fashion choices reflect her pride in African aesthetics. The Bvlgari campaign represents a significant moment in her fashion journey, aligning luxury jewelry with her commitment to cultural representation and authenticity.

As a Friend of the House, Bvlgari, Adichie joins Linda Evangelista, Isabella Rossellini, Kim Ji-won, and Sumayya Vally, each contributing a miniature book to their minaudière. The limited-edition collection reimagines Bvlgari’s symbols using high jewelry techniques such as lost-wax casting, hand enameling, and stone inlays. The pieces are intentionally small, emphasizing cultural meaning over practicality.
