Tyla’s Cobweb Dress in One Part Glamorous and One Part Naked

Tyla is undeniably making waves in the music industry, and her latest appearance at Billboard’s Women in Music event has only solidified her star power.

Sporting an avant-garde dress that seemed to weave between the realms of high fashion and daring naked dress trend, the singer turned heads and sparked conversations with her choice of attire.

The striking creation, a couture gown by Jean Paul Gaultier, features a delicate design that mimics the aesthetics of a spider’s web. Crafted from spidery strings and mesh, the dress has a high neckline that hugs Tyla’s silhouette, gradually transitioning into a dramatic webbed train. The gathered strings expertly cup her chest, leaving just enough to the imagination while she styled the ensemble with tasteful black underwear and stiletto pumps.

The gown is from the Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2025 Couture collection, titled “Le Naufrage,” which translates to “Shipwreck.” Per the report, the concept of the dress was inspired by a striking music video duet involving Seal and Mylène Farmer, set against the backdrop of being adrift at sea.

With this narrative in mind, the piece captured an air of sensuality intertwined with mythological undertones, which Tyla embraced effortlessly. On her, the gown retained its sexy, confident, and playful tone, demonstrating the perfect blend of fashion, art, and personal expression.

Tyla’s styling choices further enhanced her captivating look. Her light brown hair was styled up in a messy updo, with tight cornrows leading into big, loose curls that framed her face beautifully. The neon yellow of her stiletto nails, matching her pedicure, added a pop of color that complemented the boldness of her dress, making the South African singer stand out even more in a sea of glamorous attendees.

Inside the venue, Tyla mingled with fellow awardee Doechii, who also embraced mesh in her style, wearing an archival look by Donna Karan.

As the night progressed, Tyla made a striking change into a more casual yet equally chic ensemble.

She opted for a silk blue shirt, daringly worn open to her belly button, paired with low-rise denim short-shorts and an oversized brown suede biker jacket. This shift showcased her versatile sense of fashion, underlining that whether in couture or casual wear, Tyla remains a true fashion girl.
