If you’ve been keeping up with Rihanna’s met gala looks, you’ll know she’s a regular slay queen at the event.
Over the years, Rihanna has been shutting down The Metropolitan Museum of Art and she’s not slowing down. From her omelet-inspired yellow dress to the pope-inspired Maison Margiela Artisanal ensemble (for 2018’s “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” gala) to a petal-covered Comme des Garçons creation (for 2017’s “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between” ball), to the many statements she has made. We were not surprised when we saw her in such a glow at the MET Gala this year.
The “Umbrella” crooner appeared at the 2023 MET Gala fashionably late in a blossom-covered Valentino gown which was completed with a flower-adorned cape and a train. The look also featured a false eyelash of white shades.
Once inside the hall, the superstar singer wowed us again as she pulled off her cape to reveal the original layer of the gown showing off her baby bump. Remember that the 35-year-old singer had announced her second pregnancy with her boyfriend ASAP Rocky in a brilliant performance at the Super Bowl earlier this year.
She was accompanied by her boyfriend, ASAP Rocky, who showed up in a plaid kilt skirt layered over shimmering blue jeans, while his top layer was a corporate Gucci suit jacket with a black tie.
The mother-of-one was already in the MET Gala spirits last week as she was spotted rocking a feathered shift dress with a matching cropped Chanel jacket, teasing us as she prepped for the Gala.
Arguably, we can say that this is one of the best looks at the 2023 Met Gala as it really paid tribute to Karl Largerfield’s work. His shows were always known to end with bridal and haute looks and Rihanna perfectly understood the assignment.
