Angelina Jolie and daughter Zahara are like fashion twins.
On January 3, 2024, the glamorous Palm Springs International Film Awards witnessed a heartwarming moment as actress Angelina Jolie celebrated her significant achievement alongside her daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt.
This event, held at the Palm Springs Convention Center, was especially meaningful for Jolie, who was honored with the prestigious Desert Palm Achievement Award for her captivating portrayal of the legendary opera singer Maria Callas in the Netflix biopic “Maria.”
“Maria presents the iconic Angelina Jolie in the role of a lifetime as she embodies Maria Callas, the world-renowned opera legend. Jolie’s extraordinary portrayal captures the heart and complexity of an artist whose life was as captivating as her music,” Nachhattar Singh Chandi, the festival chairman said in a statement during the announcement.
“In honor of her mesmerizing transformation into this groundbreaking yet tragic figure, we are thrilled to present Angelina Jolie with the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress,” he added.
Jolie’s appearance at the festival was also a familial celebration, as her godmother, Jacqueline Bisset, graced the red carpet to present her with the award, adding a personal touch to the prestigious occasion.
The mother-daughter duo made a striking impression on the red carpet, elegantly showcasing their personal styles. Angelina Jolie dazzled in a long black halter gown. Her blonde hair flowed freely, adorned with new bangs that framed her face beautifully. Completing her stunning look, Jolie emphasized her features with dark eyeshadow and a subtle pink lip, embodying the timeless allure of classic Hollywood.
In contrast, Zahara opted for a fresh and youthful appearance, donning a white A-line gown characterized by delicate lace detailing. The flowing fabric that cascaded down one shoulder added an element of ethereal charm to her ensemble, perfectly complemented by the elegance of her mother’s darker attire.
This appearance marked a pivotal moment for Jolie, as it was her first major event since finalizing her divorce from Brad Pitt. Despite the tumultuous past, a source close to the actress shared with PEOPLE that she “seems very happy and content with her life.”
“She’s focused on her kids and work. She’s involved in projects that she truly cares and feels passionate about,” the source said.
The event not only celebrated her professional success but also highlighted the close bond she shares with her six children, including Zahara, Maddox, Pax, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
Maria is already streaming on Netflix, with the actress earning a Golden Globe Award nomination for her work in the film, which will be held later tonight, Sunday, January 5.
