It’s been an exciting week for the British royals. After celebrating Princess Eugenie’s wedding over the weekend, it was revealed by Kensington Palace via Twitter that Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex is pregnant with her first child with Prince Harry, shortly after the couple arrived in Australia for their first royal tour.
“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” the Palace tweeted. “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”
The beaming couple, whose visit will focus on “youth leadership, environmental and conservation efforts – including the dedication of several new Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy projects,” officially kicked off the day one of their visit in Sydney yesterday, arriving at Admiralty House, the official Sydney residence of the Governor-General of Australia, Peter Cosgrove, and Lady Cosgrove.
Being that their mission was to also meet with the representatives from each of the 18 countries participating in the Invictus Games, the Duchess of Sussex slipped on her sleek, clingy white dress, which apparently, showed off a bit of her tiny baby bump.
The sleeveless, midi sheath dress designed by Australian label Karen Gee was a great choice for the new mom-to-be as it complemented her slender physique. The ensemble was completed with nude pumps with her hair in loose curls, creating a simple yet understatedly elegant look.
