Jennifer Lopez is living up to her newfound love for a spiderweb-inspired gown.
This time she’s wearing a black sheer dress adorned with a striking spiderweb motif. The glamorous look was worn in honor of legendary composer John Kander’s 98th birthday in New York City. As a star of “Kiss of the Spider Woman,” a musical composed by Kander, Lopez’s performance as part of the tribute added a heartfelt element to the evening.
Lopez’s look, designed by renowned fashion house Zuhair Murad, featured a figure-hugging silhouette made from a sophisticated knitted black fabric that beautifully replicated the delicate intricacies of a spiderweb.
The ensemble included a voluminous black shawl draped elegantly around her shoulders, enhancing the dramatic effect. Sharing her striking look on Instagram, Lopez’s stylist, Mariel Haenn, captured the beauty of the gown, making it a focal piece of the evening.
The superstar accessorized the look with dazzling jewelry from Yeprem, which included captivating drop earrings and a chic choker necklace. Lopez styled her hair in a sleek bun and opted for smoky eye makeup that perfectly complemented her overall aesthetic.
The spiderweb-inspired gown was just one of three stunning ensembles Lopez donned that evening. Earlier, she was spotted arriving at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre in a pink plunging gown paired with a matching fur shrug, both freshly designed from The New Arrivals by Ilkyaz Ozel.
As the celebrations continued, Lopez made her way to the afterparty in another striking look—this time a floor-length white gown from Stephane Rolland’s fall 2023 collection coupled with elegant heeled sandals. To elevate her evening look, she accessorized with sparkling diamond hoop earrings and a fashionable, sparkly purse.
“John Kander at Ring Them Bells: A Birthday Celebration” was not just a star-studded affair but also served as a benefit concert featuring performances from notable artists including Alan Cumming, Whoopi Goldberg, and Jinkx Monsoon.
This is not the first time Lopez has worn a spiderweb-inspired gown. Back in January, she arrived on the red carpet for the Sundance Film Festival premiere of Kiss of the Spider Woman, wearing a black Valdrin Sahitilace gown — a look that was crafted with Hassanzadeh jewelry to form a spiderweb.
