Genevieve Nnaji Debut a Cute Pixie Cut to Mark Her 46th Birthday

Genevieve Nnaji is no stranger when it comes to switching up her hair looks. We’ve seen the veteran Nigerian actress embrace the bob cut in the morning and then wear a completely different look in the evening.

She is entering the pixie cut era as one of Nollywood’s biggest names is celebrating her new age. Yesterday, Saturday, May 3, the Lionheart actress, who turned 46, debuted an impeccably done pixie cut with spikey detail that highlighted her facial frame.

The actress sported the look with statement earrings, complete with a sleek evening gown featuring a one-sleeved shoulder and asymmetric hemline. Her makeup was equally on point as the Nollywood darling enhanced her natural beauty with dark brown lipstick and dark eyeshadow.

Friends and fans were immediately stunned by her new look as they swamped the comment section with sweet birthday wishes, while some dubbed the new look “ageless.”

This comes a week after she posted a carousel of photos where she wore a voluminous afro hair in naturally-looking curls.

The 46-year-old Nigerian actress has been on a low-key since she relocated abroad a few years ago. And although there’s no hint at her latest project, Nnaji recently talked about her love for Nollywood and her hopes for the Nigerian movie industry. “Nollywood is simply home for me,” she said during a panel discussion in 2024.

“Nollywood is pretty much what I live, think, and breathe. It’s an entertainment industry for a lot of people, but for me it’s life. It’s all I know, it’s what I love, it’s what I enjoy. Um, and it encompasses a lot of people who are very passionate about art and creating art and film,” the actress continued.

“What’s happening now is that people expect you to know everything because they think, oh, you have enough experience. You just act. What are you doing? Just, have you read the lines? Just act. But I still like being told what to do. You know? And I’m kind of in that position where I still want to be eight years ago. So I’m kind of hoping that things get bigger in Nollywood.

The sets get bigger, the cameras get bigger, the filters get more refined, you know all the technical terms, but basically we work with a bigger project on a bigger set, and you know the opportunities are endless, and just so that we can be babies again. There’s always that drop of Lagos or that drop, that drop of Ayo or Chi-Chi. There’s always a reference to Nigeria in some way. In other words, you are aware of our existence. So next time you’re going to kill Superman, try and kill him. What’s the other? The Avengers.”
