On the 27th of May, 2022, Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty is set for launch in Africa, officially. For the start, Fenty Beauty will be rolled out in nine African countries including Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.
Rihanna surprised her Fenty Beauty fans last week (May, 10th) when she announced the launch, saying that she’s been waiting for such an incredible time. “I’ve been waiting for this moment!! @fentybeauty & @fentyskin are finally dropping in AFRICA!!!,” the mom-to-be captioned a post on Instagram, along with a stunning photo of herself wearing a white turtleneck top, matching headwear, and full-face makeup.
“Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe…we comin at ya May 27th and that’s just the beginning!!! #FentyAfrica.”

However, in keeping up with the brand’s inclusive ethos, the “Work” singer has chosen a Zimbabwean-British model, Nyasha Matonhodze, as the face of Fenty Beauty Africa’s global launch. Nyasha will work with the brand to front its products — be it on social media, billboards, or TV. As excited as she is, the 27-year-old model took to Instagram to share the exciting news while describing the opportunity as “particularly special.”

“I’ve had a lot of “pinch me” moments in my career, but I have to say this one hit differently,” the Zimbabwean beauty explained. “To be the face of @fentybeauty Africa’s global launch is one thing, but as a deeply proud Zim Girl and knowing this will be launching in Zimbabwe where my family and grandma are going to see it felt particularly special.”
She continued: “Colourism is still something we are healing from, but when beauty companies make an effort to cater for all shades it does genuinely make everyone feel included. Thank you @badgalriri I’m incredibly honoured to be apart of this campaign and most importantly it’s message.”

For starters, Nyasha Matonhodze isn’t a new face in the fashion and modeling industry. Having walked for prestigious brands, she’s been winning gigs here and there. Nyasha started her modeling career in 2010 at the age of 16 and walked for Louis Vuitton in October that same year. She’s fronted countless campaigns and walked for Loewe, Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger, Halpern, Dior, and Versace, just to name a few.
With her latest partnership with Fenty Beauty, she’s definitely going to take our money. After all, it’s Fenty Beauty!
