The actress is no doubt one of the celebrities out there who can boast of a flawless skin and whether she’s on the screen or red carpet, her skin always glows. We are talking about the kind of skin that glows in the dark and the skin that does not age — that’s Dumas, of course.
The Ghanaian star has just revealed that she’s added the PRP treatment into her skincare routine and we’re excited that she decided to let the cat out of the bag by sharing the video of the procedure. The video shows the actress undergoing the process on a surgical bed where she allowed her face to be worked on. “If you know me, you know I don’t play when it comes to my skincare routine,” she said in the video before going under the needles.
You might be wondering what Platelet-Rich Plasma Facial treatment actually is. Having involved slathering the face with medical-strength numbing cream and allowing it to sit for a minimum of 30mins, as well as using a microneedle to draw out your blood from the arm, it seems like an excruciating skincare treatment but Dumas did not look frightened. However, her face immediately became reddish and puffy after the procedure was carried out.
According to a report, the benefits of PRP facial cannot be overemphasized as it can decrease the appearance of fine lines, zapping acne scars and hyperpigmentation, as well as the stimulation of collagen.
As for how safe the treatment is, a New Jersey board-certified plastic surgeon, Norman Rowe, MD, affirmed that plasma is totally safe. “Using a patient’s own plasma is ideal because it’s natural, plentiful, and they have no allergies to it since their body produces it,” said Norman. “It works by attracting stem cells to the area that they’re used. In the face, stem cells make new, more youthful-looking skin because they become new collagen and elastin.”
