Lagos Fashion Week’s Woven Threads V Explored the Power of Community in Fashion

From the 19th to 21st April 2024 Lagos Fashion Week presented the fifth edition of Woven Threads. The season’s showcase, themed “Commune”, was a vibrant tribute to African fashion and its community spirit.

Sustainability is often viewed through the pillars of economic, environmental, and social development with culture taking a back seat. “Commune” took an exploratory dive into the work of creatives on the scene through the African cultural lens of Community, the starting point of our creative process.

Woven Threads stands as a beacon for ethical and sustainable fashion, rooted in the rich traditions of African artisanal communities.
