13 Dresses From #AMVCA2016 That Are Worthy of Their Own Award

The much anticipated Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards 2016 may have come and gone, but we will always live to remember every bit of the event. From the awards themselves, the touching speeches and, of course, the unforgettable red carpet moments. It was a momentous event that was worthwhile sitting back with our friends to weigh in on every stunning dress that went down the red carpet, as well as to see who took home the trophies.

As the Bible says (yes, that’s right), ‘give honor to whom honor is due’, we’re celebrating the looks that took our breath away because, we waited nervously for this event. Here, the 13 dresses that are worthy of their own award: 

#1 Caroline Danjuma

Although Caroline did not win any award, but her dress choice from Bunmi “Million” earned her a major style points.

#2. Stephanie Linus

She wore a breathtaking custom-made green bedazzled gown by Lisa Folawiyo Studio to win the biggest awards, and also delivered the most heart-warming speech. 

#3. Dakore Akande

Dakore Akande was a picture of elegance in this covet-worthy dress by Funke Adepoju.

#4. Genevieve Nnaji

When Genevieve is in the building, what do you expect? Elegance!

#5. Rita Dominic

She didn’t go overboard with her look, but Rita really understand her body up to a point that whatever she wears surely delivers that perfect and polished look.

#6. Mercy Aigbe

Mercy was the belle of the ball in this ethereal silver beaded dress by House of Luminee.

#7. Minnie Dhlamini

All the way from SA, the co-host of the event, Minnine Dhlamini beats most celebs to earn a higher style points with her Gert Johan Coetzee’s dress 

#8. Gbemi Olateru

We can tell you, Gbemi has never secured a page on our style book, but her gorgeous blue gown from Tubo clothing just did that for her.

 

#9. Adesuwa Etomi

Adesuwa’s gorgeous green gown won her the ‘Best Actress’ and also added a jolt of energy at the AMVCA last-night.

#10. Sonia Ogbonna

Celebs wearing a dress with sheer details on the red carpet isn’t a new concept, but this dress looked so good on Sonia that it will go down in history as one of the best looks at the AMVCA.
