Sharon Ooja is officially married!
The Nigerian actress tied the knot with her husband, Ugo Nwoke, in a traditional wedding ceremony that took place in Abuja on June 27, 2024. The news of their union has sent ripples of excitement through the Nigerian entertainment industry, with fans and industry insiders alike showering the couple with love and well wishes.
The intimate ceremony was attended by close family members, friends, and some of Sharon’s fellow Nollywood stars, including Jemima Osunde, Bisola Aiyeola, Nancy Isime, and Ini Dima-Okojie. Videos from the event shared by the actress herself showcased the evident love and joy between the newlyweds, solidifying their bond in the eyes of their guests and fans.
Sharon made a stunning bride in a white lace gown designed by Amy Aghomi, featuring intricate detailing and a deep neckline that accentuated her beauty. Her bridal look was completed with a sparkling silver head tie, statement jewelry, and makeup that highlighted her features with a smokey eye and bold red lips.
Her husband, Ugo Nwoke, looked every bit the regal groom in a traditional white outfit by Atafo, accessorized with a red cap and coral beads that added a touch of cultural significance to his ensemble.
For her second outfit, the screen diva embraced her Idoma heritage in a stunning red and white corseted dress. The bodice was intricately beaded, and she wore a matching head tie. Ooja carried a fan with “Mrs. Nwoke” embroidered on it. Her husband complemented her look in a classic black beaded traditional suit by the same designer, paired with a red bishop collar shirt and an Idoma striped cap.
In her third outfit, Sharon OOja honored her husband’s Igbo heritage with a beaded corseted dress featuring the traditional Igbo fabric isi-Agu symbolizing the lion’s head, as the skirt. She also held a horse tail accessory. Her husband wore matching the isi-Agu attire and cap.
Sharon’s happiness at officially becoming Mrs. Nwoke was evident and shone brightly on her face.
The Nwokes’ love story didn’t start today and we’re not sure exactly when it began, but Ooja revealed their wedding engagement three months ago. The “Oloture” actress surprised everyone with a video where she announced that she had been engaged for a few months already, but had kept it a secret. She also mentioned that she and her husband had already had their civil wedding, making her a “Mrs” even before today’s big celebration.
In her heartfelt announcement, Sharon expressed deep admiration for her new husband. “He brought the calm… I’d say yes a thousand times to your kindness, discipline, and unwavering love,” she said, reflecting on his positive impact on her life. She affectionately called him her “best friend bro bro,” hinting at their close and playful relationship.
The actress emphasized their strong bond and her belief that their union is a blessing from above. “This is truly the hand of God. I prayed for this, and God gave me more than I could have imagined,” she joyfully declared.

Even at her bridal shower earlier in June 2024, the Nigerian actress refused to reveal her husband’s identity. But from the video she uploaded, it’s clear the shower was a blast! She wore a stunning dress from the House of Julyet Peters’ unreleased Dreamy Collection.
It was a simple yet elegant short dress with a collar, embroidered flower, and a flowing bow at the back. She also sported a hair bow and flawless makeup, clearly enjoying the celebration with her friends and close circle.
