We are always excited to see breathtaking wedding gowns capable of sending us into overdrive and the gown worn by makeup artist, Labisi Folawiyo, who tied the knot yesterday really caught our eye in particular. If you are a fashion girl, it will be easy to see why. While the groom, Aderemi Sijuwade was decked in a contemporary double-breasted suit, the bride wanted something with five keywords in mind: simple, modest, unique, but glamorous and swoon-worthy.
So she turned to a renowned Nigerian designer, Deola Sagoe, who delivered a gown that was no doubt simple and modest — especially when the understated long sleeve lace number covered her from neck-to-toe without any hint of skin. In fact, the modesty was so serious her collarbones were also concealed. But Labisi knew exactly how to raise the eyebrow: behind the gown was a strategically diamond shaped cut-out that showed off the appropriate amount of skin — a distinctive design you probably never thought of. Which means when the bride had her back to the crowd, she created a very glamorous view.
