Emulating Your Favourite Celebs On Your Wedding Day: Inventive Ideas For Bold Brides

Anyone on Instagram will have seen the gorgeous weddings celebrated by our favorite celebs. Paris Hilton had fans in awe when she married in a stunning high-neck lace dress, and Megan Markle’s classy dress was a lesson for all in paired-back elegance.

In your mind, you might see these celebrity soirees as your dream day, but it’s really not as out of your reach as you might think. Okay, so you might not be able to splash the cash as they do, but there are a few simple ways to add a sprinkle of celeb style to your wedding without breaking the bank. Here are a few inventive ideas to help you get inspired for your own big day.

Choose a wedding venue away from the hustle and bustle

One thing almost all celebrity weddings have in common is that the chosen venue is private. The last thing they want is paparazzi and fans crowding the entrance or clambering over walls trying to get an exclusive. And with many celebs living in London or the outskirts, many heads to the surrounding counties for beautiful venues away from prying eyes. Think East Sussex for a gentle balance of countryside and coastal views, Kent for luxury and opulence, or Hampshire for rural beauty. This way, you benefit from a city escape while still being close to London, so all your guests can arrive with ease.

Ditch the white dress

Feeling bold? Nothing says confident, unique bride like going against the status quo and ditching the traditional white dress. Instead, go big with a red dress, keep it subtle with yellow or dusky pink, or if you don’t fancy a dress at all, a pantsuit, jumpsuit or co-ord can look truly beautiful. Despite some preconceptions, white dresses haven’t always been the wedding dress staple – it was only when Queen Victoria married in white that other brides followed suit. And in other cultures, bright colours are always the go-to, so really there aren’t any rules, it’s all about you and what you love.

Set a dress code for cohesion

Celebs are always thinking about the bigger picture, and when it comes to weddings, it’s all about making sure the wedding photos look perfect. If you’re envisioning a particular image for your wedding, why not set a dress code on the invitations? Now, this could be anything from a simple black tie code to asking all your guests to wear a certain colour. Not only will it add cohesion to your wedding, but you and your partner will really stand out in the pictures. After all, you are the stars of the show!

Plan a party no one will forget

Whether it is the Brits, the Grammys, or the Met Gala, nothing is more anticipated than the after-party photos – remember *that* bathroom selfie, anyone? So, if it’s a celeb-style wedding you’re after, the party is where you should focus. Think of a banging playlist, an all-star DJ, or a live performance by your favorite rising artist. And if you want to capture photos like the famous after parties, leave disposable cameras around the venue, and even add a photo booth or two, so you can make sure you capture every moment, whether you’re there to experience it in person or not!
